Unleashing greatness in organizations,... What else!

As a partner in a strategy and innovation consulting company, I read quite a few management and strategy every year, to keep up with new concepts, and sometime hype.

This management book is different. It's not about making incremental performance gains or implementing oh-so-trendy latest management gimmic. It is about "unleashing greatness in organizations". Waouh, greatness, no less!

I like it, because when you tackle management with this point of view (and I can't imagine a higher point of view than this one), everything starts to align: company values and vision, performance, people's success and fullfilment, and, at the end of the day, success.

Thanks Mr. Cousin for having set the bar so high, and yet for using such a pleasing and easy to read style (which is not so common in management litteracy).

"Exciting, Engaging and Eye-Opening". Jean Francois Cousin has demonstrated his ideas clearly in this well-wriiten book using metaphor that everyone can relate to. I got many insights reading Game Changers at the circus; one of which is no matter what roles we are assuming or playing, we can always take the lead and become a game changer in any environment or situations if we want to.

Unique approach with a lot of insight

The circus fable in Game Changers is a refreshing change from textbooks and pop business books. By giving us an easily understood narrative to act as a framework, it’s easier to absorb the many insights that Jean-Francois describes in the latter part of his book, and to see how those insights work together to help groups of people reach common goals.
Once I had an understanding of the overall message, I particularly appreciated some of the practical advice towards the end, and also in the website link given in the workbook section.
For example, an exercise recommended to develop self-awareness is, “Update yourself about who you are, your positive traits, negative traits, strengths, talents, overused strengths, and weaknesses through self-reflections and guided conversations (mini-360) with trustworthy people close to you.” How much more balanced and useful is this than an LQ exercise: forced conversations with colleagues of dubious intentions and biases over a list of prescribed questions?
Jean-Francois’s style is easy to read, succinct, and still unique, even flowery in places. Yet don’t be misled by the easy tone; there is a lot of experience and wisdom contained in the book’s pages, and I expect to refer to it often in the future.
